Dr. Andrei Guter-Sandu

Andrei is a political economist specialized in sustainable finance and public governance.
Since 2021, he is an Assistant Professor of International Political Economy (IPE) in the Politics, Languages & International Studies (PoLIS) Department at the University of Bath, UK. In April 2023, he joined the OBFA-TRANSFORM project as a senior associate researcher.
From 2019 to 2021, he held an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Centre for Analysis of Risk & Regulation (CARR) and the Department of Accounting at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he analyzed the governance of innovative forms of private financing in the social policy sector. Before, and also at the LSE, he worked as a postdoc researcher on a large international project funded via the Open Research Area for the Social Sciences (ORA), where he investigated the privatization and economization of public services (prisons, universities, hospitals) in the UK.
Andrei holds a PhD in International Political Economy from City, University of London (2018); an MA in Postcolonial Studies and Global Policy from Goldsmiths’ College, University of London (2012); an AY in Value Studies from Bard College, Berlin (2011); and a BA in European Studies and Philosophy from the University of Bucharest, Romania (2010).
