Matteo Giordano
Associate researcher
Matteo is a macroeconomists and political economist specialised in money and finance. He currently covers the position of Lecturer in Economics at the Department of Economics at SOAS University of London. In 2023 he joined the OBFA-TRANSFORM Project as an Associate Researcher.
He is a founding member of the European Research Network on Economic and Social Policy (EReNSEP), with whom he published the book “The State of Capitalism” as a writing collective. His current projects revolve around his research on monetary and financial subordination in the European Monetary Union, a modelling of financial macro-structures and debt management, and the assessment of the Global Financial Crisis and the Eurocrisis via the Monetary Architecture framework.
Matteo holds a Bachelor of Science (2019) and PhD (submitted, expected 2024) in Economics from SOAS, University of London, and a Master of Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2020).
